{DIY with style} Framing Canvas Art with Trim Molding
When I came across two canvas prints - Watching Over NYC and Watching Over LA by Zoey Riley - on final closeout at Z Gallerie a year or so ago {they are now back, but in a more expensive glass coat versions}, I immediately knew they would be a key element in the master bedroom refresh I had been dreaming of. The shades of blue were perfect to tie in with our existing blue duvet that I wanted to keep, and the skylines set the perfect mood for the Modern Metro vibe I wanted in ... View the Post
{decorating with style} Zebra Cornice Boards – Part 1
Our nursery has been ALMOST complete since Beckett was born nearly 17 months ago. But the one project we never got around to finishing were the window coverings for the room. Now that Baby Number 2 is set to arrive in a matter of weeks, I decided it was time was finally get this project done! We love how modern the architecture of our home is, but one element that poses a big challenge is the abundance of long, thin horizontal windows throughout the house. On the main floor of our house ... View the Post

{blogiversary} Blue i Style Turns 2 & Gets a Makeover
This post is hitting the presses pretty late tonight, but I wanted to finish it up before the end of the night in honor of today being Blue i Style's SECOND BLOGIVERSARY! Last year, I celebrated my first blogiversary by compiling a round up of my 10 ten most popular post from my first year of blogging. But since I just recently looked back at all of my top posts of 2014, it seemed to soon to do another top 10. So instead, I thought, why not give the blog what any of us would enjoy on our ... {decorating with style} Warm Up Your Space with Unexpected Fall Colors
This post is sponsored by Cost Plus World Market, which is one of my favorite places to shop! Thank you for supporting the brands that make this blog possible! As always, all ideas and opinions are my own. This post also contains affiliate links. Fall may not be in the air just yet, but step inside any store and there is no doubt that it's just around the corner. School supplies and fall decor filling the shelves signal that cooler weather isn't far away. This has me itching to buy every ... View the Post
{diy with style} The Dark Door Difference
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of FrogTapeĀ® for IZEA. As always, all opinions are 100% mine. You guys know I like things bold, so you probably won't be surprised that from the moment we moved into our home, I was itching to do something, anything, to liven up the very bland, off-white stucco box that is our detached garage. When we started planning the first phase of our backyard makeover a number of years ago, we decided on a patio constructed of square ... View the Post
Modern & Merry Christmas Home Tour
We started decorating for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving, and somewhere along the way we decided to rearrange the living room. The decorating is almost done, but the house is definitely in hot mess mode with fall decor piled on the stairs to be put away and boxes and bins waiting to be returned to the garage. I'll be taking more photos of our holiday decorations once I get everything cleaned up, but I get so excited about Christmas decor that I couldn't help but share some sneak peeks ... View the Post
{one room challenge} Week 1 – Planning a Play Room Under the Stairs
Today marks the start of another One Room Challenge. Just one year ago, I heard about this event for the first time and about two hours later I threw my hat into the ring, committing to get Beckett's "big boy" bedroom completed in a mere six {really it's five} weeks time. It was CRAZY, but it got done and that made it all worth while! So worth while that I subjected myself to the craziness again in the fall when I redid our master bedroom for my second One Room Challenge. And just like that {a ... View the Post
{link party} The Creative Circle – Week 13
Welcome to The Creative Circle link party - a place to share and find inspiration for your home! I had a fantastic time at the SNAP! Conference in Salt Lake City last week! I had a chance to meet some of the fantastic bloggers who link up here at our party each week, and I made lots of new friends. I came home with a mile-long to-do list, but before I even think about implementing what I learned at the conference, I first need to put my nose to the grindstone in order to finish our One Room ...
