Today I'm launching a new feature that I'm calling {mom's style} where, from time to time, I'll be sharing with you some of my mom's fabulous designs and projects. As I mentioned last week, my mom and I have very different decorating styles (mine more modern and contemporary with lots of bright colors - hers featuring many more earth tones with carefully selected pops of color). Let me start by introducing you to my mom, Debbie. Can you see the resemblance? I can't describe ... View the Post

How to Organize Baby Bottles
It's birthday day at our house! Today Cooper is two months old, and Beckett is 19 months old. One thing I know for sure is that two little ones equal lots and lots of stuff. And not just toys... lots of stuff in the kitchen as well. An entire shelf in our cupboard is dedicated to Beckett's plastic cups, plates and bowls, and an entire shelf in the pantry is dedicated just to his food. Now, with another baby in the house, we are using bottles again, but we don't have ... View the Post
{link party} The Creative Circle: Week 2
I have to start today's post by thanking everyone who joined us to help Kathy and I kick off The Creative Circle last week! This past week was full of some frustrations because I discovered that nearly all of the comments I was leaving on others' blogs were not being received. On some sites, my comments were ... How to Make a Reusable Chalkboard Pennant Banner
I'm pretty good at a lot of artsy and craftsy things, but my sewing skills are very basic! But when my mom showed me how to make a fabric banner using chalkboard fabric, I thought, “now that’s a sewing project simple enough that even I could do it!” And if I can do it, then anyone can! So today I'm excited to show you just how easy it is to make your own DIY pennant banner with reusable chalkboard fabric that you can write on and wipe off over and over to decorate for any special ... Thanksgiving Table Setting Hack
I have this thing with catalogs. I love flipping through them as soon as they hit my mailbox, and sticking little tabs on all the pages that inspire me. It's tempting to want pretty new stuff every season, but my wallet obviously doesn't agree. Recently I spotted a gorgeous collection of white and gold "thankful" tableware at Crate and Barrel {affiliate link} and thought, maybe I need special plates just for Thanksgiving... but nope, I don't. I don't have the money or the space for a ... View the Post
DIY Sesame Street Bean Bag Toss Game
On Monday, I shared my sad story of Beckett's birthday party being cancelled last weekend because the rec center employee who was supposed to be there for our after-hours rental never showed up. We were locked out and had to turn thirty kids away. But tomorrow is take two, and we expect that this time the party will go off without a hitch. {Fingers crossed!!} Since Beckett absolutely loves Sesame Street, it was an obvious choice as the theme for his party this year. I wanted to keep all ... View the Post

How to Create a Magnetic Chalkboard Wall
I have loved chalkboards ever since I was a kid. It was always such a special treat anytime I had an opportunity to doodle on the board after school! So several years ago when I became aware that you could buy chalkboard paint for your home, I knew that my kids would some day have their very own chalkboard to doodle on! And then I learned about magnetic primer, and well...that sealed the deal! I realize that chalkboard walls are becoming quite common, but I always enjoy seeing how people ... View the Post
