Five years ago when we moved out of our downtown loft and into a bigger house, we had more rooms than we knew what to do with. One bedroom became an office, one a guest room, I set up my easel for painting in one room, and still another bedroom we set up as an exercise room. But we knew that sooner or later we'd start a family and that some of these rooms would become bedrooms for our children. The room where I used to paint was the first to be converted - it ... {mom’s style} Rustic Chic Powder Room
If you missed the announcement about the launch of my new feature called {mom's style}, hop on over here for a quick introduction to my awesome mother! As I mentioned last Friday, we spent our Labor Day weekend in beautiful Breckenridge, Colorado. I raved about why Breckenridge is one of my favorite places, and it turns out I'm not the only one who feels that way since just this week Forbes named Breckenridge in the top 5 on their list of America's Prettiest Towns. Two ... View the Post
{mom’s style} Launching a New Feature!
Today I'm launching a new feature that I'm calling {mom's style} where, from time to time, I'll be sharing with you some of my mom's fabulous designs and projects. As I mentioned last week, my mom and I have very different decorating styles (mine more modern and contemporary with lots of bright colors - hers featuring many more earth tones with carefully selected pops of color). Let me start by introducing you to my mom, Debbie. Can you see the resemblance? I can't describe ... View the Post
{travel} Labor Day Weekend in Breckenridge
I'm very much a city girl, so sometimes I am jealous of people who live on the East Coast with so many great cities within a short drive or train ride away. I'd love to be able to take a train to NYC or Boston for a weekend getaway. But then I look out the window at the Rocky Mountains and realize we don't have it so bad in Denver! Just an hour (or two or three) from our house we can be in any number of fantastic mountain towns... Vail, Steamboat Springs, Aspen... or ... View the Post
{decorating with style} Zebra Drapes in the Nursery
I can FINALLY call the nursery done! About darn time considering Beckett is almost 20 months old and a big brother. The nursery has been almost complete for a year and a half, but with the zebra striped cornice boards installed I was finally able to hang the drapes. Long before I was pregnant, I had plans to decorate a gender neutral nursery with an animal theme. I had picked up some sheer zebra window panels from Target knowing they would one day be ... {decorating with style} Zebra Cornice Boards – Part 2
Just before Cooper was born, I finally started working on one of the nursery projects that never got completed before Beckett arrived a year and a half earlier. I was determined to finally get the window coverings for the nursery finished before Cooper's arrival. Well, perhaps I was a bit too ambitious about how much I could get done while 9 months pregnant because after I painted the cornice boards with zebra stripes to tie in with the zebra rug in the nursery, I ran out of both time ... {diy with style} Getting Playful with a New Toilet Lever
Who's a fan of Shark Week?! My husband definitely is, and I have a sneaking suspicion that in a couple of years our sons will be as well. We were watching sharks around the clock in our house a couple of weeks ago, and since this year's Shark Week coincided closely with my husband's birthday, I decided to make his birthday shark themed. I started seeing a lot of sharkey decor popping up all over the internet, but I couldn't see myself hanging shark artwork in our living room, or ... View the Post
{gifts with style} Friday Flowers
If we are friends on Facebook, then you have already heard me gushing about what a wonderful husband I have. But since today is his birthday (finally, he's as old as me again), I thought I'd gush a little more in blog-land. Seriously, I have the sweetest husband in the world who is always doing thoughtful little things for me. But for our anniversary last month, he went above and beyond by getting me an entire year of fresh flowers! He made arrangements with the flower shop in ... View the Post
{organizing with style} Washi Tape Shelves
Last week I showed your our organized "baby elevator closet" (if you want to know why we call it that, you'll have to check out that post), and you may have noticed the colorful stripes on the front of each of the shelves. Washi tape! It's hard to believe that just a few months ago I had never used washi tape for anything, and now it makes its way in to nearly every project I do. I love my label maker, and it's always been my go to when I've needed to label ... View the Post
{organizing with style} Baby Elevator Closet
I'm sure you're wondering, "What in the heck is a baby elevator closet?" Let me explain... Our house is built on three levels plus the basement, and when the builder designed it they anticipated that someone might want to add an elevator someday. Stacked directly on top of one another, all four levels of our house have a nice size closet. If someone ever wanted to add an elevator to the house ( I can't even begin to imagine what that would cost), these four closets would become an ... View the Post

How to Organize Baby Bottles
It's birthday day at our house! Today Cooper is two months old, and Beckett is 19 months old. One thing I know for sure is that two little ones equal lots and lots of stuff. And not just toys... lots of stuff in the kitchen as well. An entire shelf in our cupboard is dedicated to Beckett's plastic cups, plates and bowls, and an entire shelf in the pantry is dedicated just to his food. Now, with another baby in the house, we are using bottles again, but we don't have ... View the Post
