To say we have a lot of latex paint might be an understatement!  When we bought our home, the builder left us a touch up kit with 2 quarts of each color of paint used throughout the house (including the original wall colors, the trim, ceilings, and closet interior paints).  Additionally, we have since repainted many of the rooms in the house, resulting in a lot more leftover paint (and in the case of the ombre stripes in the nursery we used five different colors). When we bought our house five years ago, the basement was already finished.  On the upside, it's definitely a nice perk to have a fully finished space that greatly adds to the livable square footage of our house, however, on the downside, that means that there is almost no storage space in the basement.{Although the basement does have an elevator closet - "what's that?" you ask. For five years we've been unable to hear our doorbell throughout most of our narrow, but tall house. The doorbell chime is located on the first floor, and could really only be heard on the first and second floors. This meant that we couldn't hear the doorbell in the basement family room/playroom where we spend most of our time, nor could we hear it in our master bedroom on the third floor. As I mentioned yesterday, a while back I entered the Apartment Therapy "Room for Color" contest by submitting photos of Beckett's ombre striped nursery.  And earlier this week I learned that my submission made it through the "Editor's Phase" and has now been posted on the contest website for the first round of voting. UPDATE: This mood board was the winner, and the room is now complete. Tour the completed Vintage Preppy Little Man's Lounge.
